Case Study | Bellezza Beauty Oil
Bellezza Beauty Oil is the epitome of natural beauty products. Grown, harvested and pressed in Italy, Bellezza beauty oil comes from century old olive trees in a region of Tuscany called Bolgheri. This region is closest is to the sea and provides the perfect environment for Bellezza olive trees.
Bellezza came to Web-Op with a great product. However, they did not have a logo, identity and website. After getting to know Bellezza and the people behind the product, we then began to conceptualize their logo. As with any Web-Op customer we wanted to give Bellezza several options and ideas for their new logo.
Here are some concept brainstorms of different logo ideas and options. It also includes a custom monogram pattern and olive logo.
Once Bellezza had decided on a logo we then had to get started on the look of the actual product. Through extensive research and talks with Italian glass providers, Bellezza decided on an elegant bottle shape and picked an oversized wooden/cork stopper as seen below.
With a new logo and new bottle in place, we still had to create the box or package that the bottle was to come in. The "box art" is very important to any product. It determines the look and feel of the product and how the consumer first views it. Beautiful examples of expensive and trendy box art can be seen in cologne boxes and many high end beauty products.
After several meetings with print and paper providers, there were so many options. After several quotes on different materials and papers, Bellezza selected a thick grade paper in a light creme tone. This would give a sturdy feel to the box and would hold to bottle securely.
With the materials selected and with a spec sheet from the printer, our design team went to work. Keeping to the brand, we came up with something elegant yet classic in design. We used their new monogram as a backdrop and made the Bellezza logo the most visible. In collaboration with Bellezza, we also agreed upon adding a small cut out in the shape of their new olive logo. Finally we started on web design. Bellezza provided a long list of sites that they liked and disliked. This list also consisted of possible URL domain names. Since Bellezza Beauty Oil was a new product, we all decided that OliveOilBeauty.com worked well.
Until now the website was basically informational with a few pages and no checkout process. Now that we had the bottle and products shots taken by a professional photographer, we were ready to go. After several variations and ideas here are a couple of the final approved web pages for Bellezza.
